BOUNCE: Behind The Velvet Rope - 87 Min |
The nightlife. People are ready to dance, drink and party; they are ready for anything. But they are not alone. They are always being watched.
Nightclubs are replete with interesting characters, but none moreso than that looming presence straddling the velvet rope. Who is this apparent muscle-head with the dual responsibility of keeping the peace and separating the "in-crowd" from the "out-crowd"?
The Bouncer.
Bounce: behind the velvet rope goes inside the mindset of these frequently ridiculed, but always feared enforcers of the night. Who are these men? Are they programmed gorillas only there to flex and look tough, or are they highly skilled and efficient security experts with the ability to sniff out trouble and chic with equal discretion? Are they in it for the money, the love, or for the excuse to knock heads? Is being a bouncer just a job, or is it a way of life - An entry into an elite fraternity?
As part of their work routine, bouncers break up fights, reject rowdy patrons, assist drunk clientele, and, perhaps when the boss is not looking, scam some extra cash or hit on particularly attractive customers.
It' all part of life behind the velvet rope.
Bounce: behind the velvet rope spends time with these and other colorful characters, both during the day when they are "out-of-character" and during their jobs at night. The film takes a whirlwind international tour of the nightlife guided by those who see it all. The film at once glorifies and pokes fun at these supremely macho men whom we have all encountered, but to whom we have seldom devoted much attention. It takes you to the heart of the action at nightclubs and in the process weaves a comical overview of the bouncer, an oft-overlooked, but ever important cog of society.

DEATH LETTERS is a 52-minute documentary film about the death penalty in the United States – The country with the largest death-row population in the world.

At the core of the film is an interview with David Hicks, a death-row inmate who has found in writing a way to hang on to life. Excerpts from his diary are included: Daily life on death row, the fear, the humiliations, the memories, justice and the seemingly inevitable countdown towards the final meeting with the executioner…

FRIEND OR FOE - 60 Min |
For thousands of years, the battle over Jerusalem has raged between religions, people and cultures determined to make that revered city an integral part of their life and call it home.
On a personal level, El Kalidieh Street, situated in the heart of the Muslim Quarter of the Old City, represents a remarkable illustration of the differing views between Jews and Muslins regarding the fate of Jerusalem. Away from bold political statements and military intervention, we see how one street copes with the stress and hardships of coexistence; from the riots of 1936 to the violent demonstrations which ravage the street today and the savage slaying of Aliahu Omedi to the burning of Arab homes, we see first hand the eruption of true feelings and provocation of violence in this once peaceful street in the heart of the Holy Land.

HARMED FORCES - 52 Min |
Every war has victims – The dead, the maimed, the orphaned and wounded. All a result of mankind’s brutality and a horrific testament to aggression. Some victims are those who try to appear fine but underneath a façade of normalcy lies a morbid affliction - Full of demons, anxiety, neurosis and haunting phobias. These victims suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Whether the conflict was Vietnam, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Rwanda or Lebanon, the unfortunate common reality is the inability of these soldiers to adapt back to society and, more disturbingly, the little help they receive in trying to regain their sanity and rekindle their lives. HARMED FORCESis an intimate portrait of two such men.
In 1982, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), launched what was intended to be a brief military campaign in Lebanon – Operation Peace for the Galilee. For hundreds of combat soldiers, the war still rages everyday. HARMED FORCES follows two ex-paratroopers who never recovered. Their battlefield was a city – Their enemy, a civilian population. They returned home shattered – Their families disintegrated, their wives unable to cope with their attacks, their lives withering away. This poignant film tells of their suffering and follows them into their homes, work, veterans’ hospital and the few isolated places where they find comfort.
HARMED FORCES tells the story of these two soldiers, and countless others, for whom something has forever changed and will never be the same.

THE HIDDEN CHILD - 52 Min |
A mutual journey to a dark past, forgotten memories and a bleak reality is the essence of THE HIDDEN CHILD – Two accomplished professors of history and respected members of the academia have forged a unique friendship and jointly trace their roots and experiences back to World War II.
The first, Professor Saul Friedlander is one of the most revered historians about the Holocaust – He is a guest lecturer at many universities and was awarded the Prize of Israel. His book “When Memory Comes” which was later translated into twelve languages. The other, Professor Jan Philipp Reemtsma, is equally an authority about the Holocaust and is the head of the prestigious History Institute he established in Hamburg, Germany.
While their endeavors and interests seem quite similar, it is their past which resonates a hauntingly different childhood. Professor Saul Friedlander was placed by his parents in a convent in France, re-named Paul-Henry Marie Ferland and, only days before being ordained a Jesuit monk, did he learn of his Jewish identity and heritage. At age 14, determined to find his roots, Paul-Henry forged his age and boarded a weapons smuggling ship named Altalena bound for Israel – He never saw his parents again.
His counterpart, Professor Jan Philipp Reemtsma, is the heir to a family fortune which resulted from his father being granted the monopoly for tobacco manufacturing during the Third Reich. As a consequence of his wealth, he was kidnapped several years ago and the ransom paid for his return was the highest at the time – Fifteen million U.S. dollars. Both professors have rarely been interviewed and steadfastly refused to be filmed – Until now.
THE HIDDEN CHILD is a film about two victims – Each quite similar yet worlds apart. It is the story of an intriguing friendship, of healing wounds and a poignant personal odyssey like no other.

HISTORY IN THE DEPTHS - The Gallipoli Campaign - 58 Min |
HISTORY IN THE DEPTHS is the story of the brutal 1915 battle of Gallipoli during World War I. The Gallipoli Campaign was fought between Turks and Germans on one side and the Commonwealth army that consisted of British, Australians, New Zealanders, Indians and South Africans allied with the French and Senegal armies on the other. The campaign lasted about nine horrific months in which more than a quarter of a million lives were lost.
What made and still is remarkable about Gallipoli is not the magnitude of the battle, the number of soldiers killed, the multitude of nations involved nor the seemingly insignificant land which was fought over. What made Gallipoli unique is the spirit which actually bonded soldiers of opposing armies sharing the common tragedy of war. Killing each other during daylight, they shared their limited food supply and helped each other’s wounded during the night. This legacy of comradery still lives eighty-six years later and is remembered every April 25 th.
For the first time in history, the Turkish General Staff granted permission to dive and film the sacred underwater graves and wreckage of the sunken ships at Gallipoli. HISTORY IN THE DEPTHS captures vivid images of the sunken British battleships HMS Irresistible HMS Triumph, HMS Majestic, The trawler Lundy, ANZAC landing boats, the Turkish battleship Mesudiye, pinnacles and Steam Boats.
The documentary also recounts the treacherous Gallipoli land battles, the preceding naval assault on the Dardanelles, the trench and submarine warfare and the withdrawal from the battle – All retold with immense accuracy and detail through the words of historians, experts and the actual soldiers who fought in the infamous Gallipoli Campaign.

NOSTRADAMUS - Beyond the Prophecies - 52 Min |
His voice continues to echo through the corridors of time…His predictions are frighteningly accurate…and every few years, when a calamity of horrific proportions hits mankind, we remember the man who foresaw it all…
Who was Michel de Nostradame (1503-1566), the man who continues to mystify and intrigue humanity over 400 years after his death? Nostradamus, a French professor, physician, astrologer, mathematician and brilliant scholar, won lasting fame in 1559 when King Henry II died in a manner predicted in “Centuries” – one of Nostradamus’ works of prophecies.
After his family fell victims to the plague, Nostradamus moved to Spain. These years of solitude resulted in over 1,300 prophecies – Many so frightening in detail, they continue to influence our lives today. His predictions include the French Revolution, the fierce rule of Napoleon, both World Wars, the rise and collapse of the Third Reich, the invention of nuclear arsenals and their devastation at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Kennedy assassinations, man’s landing on the moon, the fatal attack on Pope Paul VI, Ayatollah Khomeni’s revolution, the Persian Gulf conflict, an array of natural disasters, including our possible demise by global warming, and the rise of the Third Anti-Christ.
Nostradamus maintained that his visions, if properly acted upon, could be avoided – His predictions would come true only if we stood idly by and did nothing to alter our fate. When interpreting his four-line prophetic quatrains, one has to remember that Nostradamus would have been prosecuted had people suspected he was documenting his visions and that many things in contemporary times did not exist in the 16 th century, therefore, these enigmatic oracles must be deciphered.
Through the words of Nostradamus himself, and the interpretations of the world’s leading expert on Nostradamus and best-selling author, John Hogue, the program examines the life and intrigue of this compelling scholar and documents his predictions – More than two hundred of which are so specific in detail, they include actual names and dates. Furthermore, the program quests into the future by decoding many of his prophecies which extend and will in influence mankind until the year 3797.
“The man from the East will come out “The place surrounded by hallow
of his seat…He will fly through the sky, mountains [sky scrapers] will be
the rains and the snow and strike everyone destroyed by a great and scattered
with his rod.” flame.”
